Does anyone here actually think it sounds like or even relates close enough to Siri or Alexa? I'm seeing this on so many articles about Google Assistant (GA), and honestly I think GA has different qualities that would turn those other tools into sycophants. I can understand how Google Now could be the way it is, but seeing that many people love Google Now, I think they will adapt to this "Home" method, and decide to be homing themselves to the Android device.
Having to use other tools that could easily be merged into one device is a drag; however, using all tools in one device is what many people dream of. I mean, projectors are less needed if you just need a small slideshow, you can make a cardboard cutout, and use your Android as a screen projector. It'll be a fun, fast way to extend its functionality.
What makes or breaks this idea is whether phone manufacturers are willing or not to actually plunge into adding it to the Android devices. Many manufacturers are complacent with leaving the device as is, and only updating it for minor issues and security fixes. I do hope this rolls out soon!
