A) HOW IT WORKS
Sony device can be unlocked by the network unlock code (NCK) or by a software. There are usually four codes available for each IMEI number in the database. It is easy but it can be tricky because there is a limited number of unlock attempts. In case all unlock attempts are used up - it is hardlocked and it means is not possible to unlock it by the code anymore.
1) It is very important to check the unlock code counter first.
Without the SIM type ##7378423##* or #987654321#
Hidden menu will appear - select SERVICE INFO > SIMLOCK
There should be X next to NETWORK with the number. There should be at least 4. If you have 0 it means the phone is hardlocked and it cannot be unlocked by any code.
b) UNLOCK INSTRUCTIONS SONY XPERIA
Power ON your phone with unsupported SIM card and it will ask you to enter an unlock code (Sim unlock PIN). Enter the unlock code (NCK, 16-digit code) and that’s it.
NOTE: VERY IMPORTANT is to check the counter how many unlock attempts do you have left before you order unlock code and you start unlocking process! When all unlock attempts are used a device become hard locked and can’t be unlock by the unlock code anymore.
Hard locked Sony devices can be unlocked a software solution. It requires technical equipment and skills we recommend to check the requirements first.
