I realized that I do. I use an iPod from 2003 still, I use my old Galaxy phone as a means to access things on my PC through Google Authenticate, I also use some very old headphones and I even still play on my Xbox 360! Do you use anything still that is out of date?
I still have a PS1 LOL And yeah I keep all my old phones. I will use them for different things. Like instead of using my main phone for listening to music and killing the battery, I bring an older spare and use that for music. I see nothing wrong with getting use out of old devices.
I do for certain things but most of my devices are up to date or current, no more than 3 years old. I don't see the issue with using older things if you do have use for them though. I just hardly ever do.
I use my stuff so long as it works. I feel like tech from the 90's was built a lot better than today and I still use items from way back then too. I use a CD player from the 90's for an example as well as older gaming systems.
galaxee I agree with you. The 90's just felt more stable as well. I think we are into a more fragile tech world now where things easily break and it isn't quite 100% on accident. They need people to keep being continual consumers, specially for phones.
I have a laptop that was released in 2012. It is slow as dirt now but I still use it for basic things like skype, checking e mails, and watching videos on Youtube. I can't do heavy browsing or downloading though.
If they still work and can preform general tasks, yes. Once they no longer hold charges or are more of a pain than a passive action to use, I pitch them.
My laptop, TV, and MP3 player are more than 6 years old so yes, I do. If you take care of stuff and buy the right brands, you don't need to get something new every 2 or 3 years.
I still tend to go back to my BlackBerry once in a while, lol. Say what you want, but they're the granddaddy of all true smartphones.
